Chennai: A day after helping the 4x100m relay team clinch gold at the 64th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships, Odisha star Animesh Kujur sprinted to victory in the 200m individual event on Saturday.
‘Mr Consistent’ Kujur, who holds the National record in both 100m and 200m, set a meet record at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium with a timing of 20.63 seconds.

“Mr. Consistent” Animesh Kujur won the Gold medal in the men’s 200m final with a timing of 20.63s at the Inter State Athletics Championships.
He broke his own Meet record 20.65s which he created last year.

On Friday, the quartet of Amiya Kumar Mallick, Kujur, Lalu Prasad Bhoi and Sarun Payasingh rewrote the meet record in 4x100m by stopping the clock at 39.52 seconds.
