Bhubaneswar: The sprinting prowess of Odisha athletes was again on show at the Kalinga Stadium here on Friday evening.
A day after Animesh Kujur raced to victory in Men’s 200m, the 100m relay quartet earned glory for Odisha in the 65th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships.

Amiya Mallick, Sarun Payasingh, Lalu Prasad Bhoi and DM Jayaram scorched the Kalinga Stadium track to finish first in the 4x100m Men’s Relay event clocking 39.92 seconds.

The Tamil Nadu team bagged silver in 40.02 seconds, and Maharashtra took bronze in 40.37.
Odisha picked up a bronze medal after Yashveer Nayak finished third in Men’s Decathlon with a tally of 7,131 points.
Kerala’s Thowfeeq (7,276) clinched gold and Maharashtra’s Kushal Mohte (7,251) claimed silver.
Odisha is currently in sixth place in medals tally with 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
