National Weightlifting: Jhili Dalabehera Claims Odisha’s Second Gold

Bhubaneswar: Ace weightlifter Jhili Dalabehera clinched Odisha’s second gold medal at the National Weightlifting Championships in Tamil Nadu’s Nagercoil.

The 23-year-old achieved a total lift of 171 kg to top the women’s 49 kg competition.

Teenager Jyoshna Sabar had struck gold and Priteesmita Bhoi won bronze in the 40 kg youth category on Thursday to help Odisha open their account in the Nationals.

Jhili had swept gold medals in all lifts in 45 kg category at the 2020 Asian Championships in Tashkent before bagging silver in 49 kg event at the 2021 Commonwealth Championships.
