Amritsar: Satyabati Khadia scored once in each session to power Odisha to a 2-0 victory over Chandigarh and help them seal a semifinal berth in the Senior National Women’s Football championship.
Thanks to Satyabati’s goals in the 27th and 87th minute, Odisha finished second in Group A with 12 points in 5 matches. Tamil Nadu topped the group with an all-win record and 15 points.
Odisha will face Group B toppers Haryana in the semifinal on June 26. The first semifinal will pit Tamil Nadu against Railways.
Manipur, who have won the National Women’s title 21 times out of the 26 times it has been held since 1992 – including three previous editions – missed out on a last-four spot after finishing third in Group B.
