Bhubaneswar: Telugu director Rajesh Touchriver, whose film ‘Na Bangaaru Talli’ bagged three national awards in 2013, will direct the upcoming crime thriller ‘Bullet Raja’.
It is based on the sensational Patnagarh parcel blast case.
The film produced by Sridhar Martha under the banner of Range Roayal Cinelab will have Hara Rath and Manoj Mishra essaying the main roles. The film’s music will be scored by Prem Anand. This was announced at a press meet here on Wednesday.
Sharing his views Touchriver said, “Filmmaking is my passion and I do not feel language would be a barrier. I always make issue-based films. Despite all the entertainment stuff, the film will also convey a social message. I have already started working on the script. We are planning to make the film both in Telugu and Odia”.
Touchriver has carved a niche in Telugu industry and earned accolades at national and international level. His first claim to fame was ‘In The Name of Buddha’, which essays true story of a Sri Lankan Tamil doctor. His last released ‘Rakhtam’ explores the moral issues a group of revolutionaries face in the process of executing their plan to assassinate the central minister. He had also won several international awards for his documentaries and short films.
“Touchriver is a good friend of mine. When we approached him to direct the film, he agreed for which we feel privileged. We are exploring all angle to make it a success,” said Manoj Mishra, who would be playing a police officer.
Producer Martha wants the film to be one-of-its kind for the industry. “The script is being written by Touchriver himself and we want to keep the suspense about other cast for the time being.”
Among others, Cinecritic Association founder secretary Pradosh Patnaik, cine journalist Dillip Hali and actor Hara Rath were present.
