Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday announced Rs 5 crore each to Kerala and Tripura as financial assistance for natural disasters.
Majhi extended the financial help after telephonic discussion with his Kerala counterpart Pinnarai Vijayan and Tripura’s Manik Shah. While Majhi thanked both chief ministers for rescue and rehabilitation of Odias staying in their states, the latter appreciated the timely assistance.
The financial assistance will be paid from the chief minister’s relief fund for carrying out rehabilitation works in the two states.
Kerala was affected by a massive landslide while Tripura sustained loss of lives and properties due to the floods last month.
