Bhubaneswar: A flying squad from the Election Commission conducted a check of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s chopper and the luggage soon after he landed for an election campaign in Rourkela on Tuesday.
A video showed Naveen waiting in the chopper till the checking concluded. His security staff were also seen cooperating with the flying squad and helping them inspect the CM’s luggage.
What stood out was the grace with which Naveen, a four-time elected Chief Minister of the State, allowed the flying squad to check the chopper and even his personal belongings.
After the inspection, the team thanked the CM, who reciprocated in his quintessential style.
However, Union Minister and senior BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan was seen losing his cool during a similar scanning in Sambalpur the same day.
A video, which went viral, showed an intimidating Dharmendra engaging in a verbal duel with the flying squad and the local police on being approached to carry out inspection of his chopper in Sambalpur on Tuesday. He was there to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally.
