Naveen Approves Formation Of Police Recruitment Board In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday extended his approval to establish Police Recruitment Board.

The Board will have three members including the chairman. An officer of Special Director General of Police or Additional DG rank will be appointed to the chairman post. One of the two members will be Additional DG or IG rank and the other of DIG or SP rank, a chief minister’s office (CMO) release said.

The state government has already approved 24 posts to carry out official and administrative works of the Board, the release added.

The Board, which has been set up to streamline the recruitment process, will be responsible for appointment to different posts in the police department from sepoy to sub-inspector and ministerial staff.
