Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday approved the proposal to upgrade all Mini Anganwadi Centres to regular Anganwadi Centres in Odisha.
The chief minister said the upgradation of 7,579 Mini Anganwadi Centres across the state would further strengthen the programme to look after healthcare and education of the children.
A budget of Rs 55,21,30,150 has been drawn up for upgradation of the Mini Anganwadi Centres. Of the total amount, the state government would bear Rs 36,40,95,160 while the Centre will contribute Rs 18,80,34,990.
Naveen said besides building the infrastructure, the fund will be utilised for procurement of medicine kit, medical equipment and other materials to be used in the Anganwadi Centres.
