Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated World’s No.1 para shuttler Pramod Bhagat from Odisha on qualifying for the Paralympics scheduled to be held in Tokyo from August 25 to September 5, 2021.

Congratulate #Odisha‘s ace shuttler @PramodBhagat83 for qualifying to participate in the #Tokyo Paralympics, to be held between 24 August and 5 September. May he bring laurels for the country. Wish him all the very best.
The athlete wrote back to the CM saying that he hopes to win India’s first Gold Medal in Badminton at the Paralympics.
He is the first sportsperson of the state to get a ticket officially for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
Earlier, Bhagat expressed his excitement on receiving an invitation to the Paralympics, saying, “Every athlete dreams of participating in the Olympics. My focus is on winning gold at the Paralympics and I have been undergoing rigorous training to achieve my goal.”
Recently, Bhagat had brought laurels for India and the State as well by winning two gold medals and a bronze at the Dubai Para Tournament held in April this year.
