Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday inaugurated a 220/132/33 KV grid substation and two 33 KV feeder at Banner in Kalahandi district through video-conferencing.
According to official sources, 220 KV grid at Jaypatna has been set up at a cost of Rs 82 crore to supply power from Indrabati project to the district. Another 132 KV double circuit line stretching 47 km will link with Junagarh.
The chief minister said the state government has been taking a number of measures to ensure economic development of Kalahandi. While several mega irrigation projects have been taken up for increasing agriculture production, the construction work of medical college is going on to ensure health care facilities, he added.
Energy minister Dibya Shankar Mishra, Opposition leader Pradipta Nayak, OPTCL head, Narla MLA Bhupinder Singh, Energy secretary and district collector were present.
