Sambalpur: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated the light and sound show at Samaleswari Temple, here through virtual mode on the occasion of Nuakhai festival.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the show will introduce the glorious history of Sambalpur and Odisha to the devotees and visitors coming to the temple.
Naveen said besides being known for its sweet language, attractive sarees and remarkable songs and dance, Sambalpur is also a seat of the country’s freedom struggle and cultural revolution.
While legendary Veer Surendra Sai has etched his name in history for his bravery and love for motherland, the western Odisha has also produced litterateur Gangadhar Meher who contribution to Odia literature is unparallel, the chief minister said.
The light and sound show has been installed at the temple at a cost of Rs 7 crore. The visitors can enjoy the 37-minute show in both Odia and Hindi languages. The show depicts the history and other details of Samaleswari temple on the basis of research inputs from Historys professors of Sambalpur University.
