Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the OPTCL Tech Tower in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The multi-storey building, constructed at a cost of Rs 55 crore in Sahid Nagar, will function as corporate office of Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (OPTCL). An energy-efficient building, it has been built with modern architecture and technology to ensure safety of the workspace.
Energy Minister Pratap Keshari Dev, Science & Technology, Public Enterprises, SSEPD Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, MLAs Ananta Narayan Jena and Susant Kumar Rout, additional chief secretary, Energy Nikunja Bihari Dhal, OPTCL CMD Sanjay Kumar Mishra, secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian and senior officers of OPTCL were present.
The OPTCL, which is engaged in providing uninterrupted power supply in the state, has 97 lakh consumers now from 16 lakh in 2000. Starting with 80 grids, the company has 194 grid substations. Its transformation capacity has also gone up from 6,125 MVA to 25,800 MVA and transmission line from 9400 circuit km to 16,300 circuit km.
