Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) chairman Naveen Jindal inaugurated the Shramveer Palace at JSP’s Angul unit in Odisha.
The fully air-conditioned accommodation, with 1056 beds, is equipped with world-class facilities. It’s part of JSP’s mission to enhance the well-being of its workforce.
The Shramveer Palace has branded mattresses, almirahs and other top-class amenities to provide the workforce comfort and convenience.
The facility also includes Amusement blocks for recreational activities to ensure a balanced environment where workers can relax.
“For us, every worker’s safety, good health, social security and comfort are top priorities. We are consistently ensuring the well-being of all the manpower striving for the growth and betterment of our Company and thereby dedicating themselves to nation building,” said Jindal, a three-time Lok Sabha MP from Haryana’s Kurukshetra.
“I hope these facilities will provide the right ambience and appropriate quality of life to our workforce who are contributing their sweat and skill for the larger cause of nation building,” added Jindal, who went around Shramveer Palace to personally inspect the facilities provided such as mattresses, quality of beds, etc.
He urged workers to consistently care for the maintenance of hygiene, emphasising its importance for their health.
The workers expressed their happiness and gratitude for the thoughtful accommodation and thanked Jindal and JSP.
Two similar units have been developed at Shramik Vihar, which provides a total of 3,000 air-conditioned accommodation in this phase. JSP plans to expand these facilities to house 20,000 workers by the end of 2025.
JSP’s Angul unit is set to become the world’s largest single-location steel manufacturing facility by 2030, with a projected production capacity of 25 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
