Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday launched two IT-enabled modules in line with the 5-T initiatives at the orientation programme for the newly recruited 100 Junior Executive Assistants in Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), here.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said by implementing the two additional IT systems, OMC – one of the largest and fastest growing mining PSUs in the country – has further strengthened its business processes.
He also appreciated the role of OMC for propelling the economic growth of the state and contributing immensely in the CSR activities.
He further said the “Gandhamardan Iron Ore Mines Traffic and Ore Dispatch Automation Project” is a technology-enabled solution which provides seamless traffic management for timely ore despatch from the mines augmenting sales, ensures safety standards and transparency.
The other IT module “Vendor Invoice Management System (VIMS)” provides a digital platform for end-to-end processing of invoices of vendors of OMC for timely payment & transparent processes.
Minister of Steel & Mines Prafulla Kumar Mallick said the OMC is leading the state since 1956 with its contribution to development and CSR activities.
The function was also attended by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra; principal secretary, Steel & Mines and Chairman OMC Surendra Kumar; MD OMC Balwant Singh and secretary to Chief Minister 5T VK Pandian.
