Bhubaneswar: The scheduled meeting of Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik with his party MLAs and state office-bearers at Kalinga Stadium here on August 28, has been postponed, party sources said.
It was originally slated for August 21 but was postponed due to the flood situation in the state. Besides implementation of government schemes, strengthening of party apparatus at the grassroots was likely to be discussed.
The reason for this second postponement is still not clear. Sources attribute it to a likely visit by the CM to Delhi.
The meeting, almost 3 months after the ministry reshuffle, assumed significance amid a changed strategy of the main opposition BJP and attempts by Congress to revive its organisation in Odisha with an eye on the 2024 Assembly elections.
