Naveen Patnaik Discharged From Mumbai Hospital After Spine Surgery

Mumbai/Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was discharged from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, where he underwent a successful spine surgery a fortnight ago. treatment for cervical arthritis.

Sources said the BJD president, who is doing very well after the surgery for cervical arthritis and subsequent treatment, will stay in Mumbai for a few more days to continue his recovery under medical supervision.

In a picture available in the media, Naveen was seen standing comfortably alongside doctors,  medical staff and well wishers.

It may be noted that Naveen, who is now the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Odisha Assembly, underwent the surgery for cervical arthritis on June 22 after noted cardiac surgeon and his personal physician Dr Ramakant Panda coordinated for the same. On Jun 25, he was shifted from ICU to the private room of the hospital and has recovered well.

The surgery was conducted by Dr S Rajasekaran, a globally recognised orthopaedic surgeon and chairman of Ganga Medical Center and Hospitals in Coimbatore, along with doctors of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.

The former CM had earlier left for Mumbai for the medical procedure for treatment of cervical arthritis. He was experiencing pain due to spondylitis for the last few days and was under treatment.
