Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday approved the setting up of a special COVID hospital in Jajpur district.
As decided, the Bhumika Multispecialty Hospital will work as the state-run COVID hospital. The hospital will have 150 beds with oxygen and 40 ICU beds.
There will be free treatment of COVID patients at the proposed hospital and the state government will bear all expenses.
With the setting up of the hospital, critical COVID patients from Jajpur and neighbouring districts won’t have to travel all the way to Bhubaneswar and Cuttack for treatment.
