Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday said his government is determined to deliver a clean, transparent and citizen-centric governance.
“The faith that the people have reposed in us is clearly reflected in the mandate. I bow to the verdict of our people who have given us yet another opportunity to serve the state,” he said in a reply on the vote of thanks in the State Assembly.
Expressing his gratitude to the people for displaying grit during Cyclone Fani to enable the state government to effectively deal with the situation and take up post-cyclone restoration work, the Chief Minister listed out the following tasks to implement the manifesto promises in a time-bound manner.
— KALIA scheme will be continued as promised.
—Efforts for development of irrigation will continue.
—Committed to take up women empowerment to the next level
—Women reservation in every forum will be aggressively pursued.
— Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas will be made operational in all blocks of the state and a Scholarship Council will be set up to facilitate scholarships both on the basis of merit and socio-economic criteria.
—Expeditious steps to convert all left-out kuchcha houses into pucca ones.
— 30 lakh employment opportunities are expected to be created in six focus sectors.
— Steps taken to set up world-class sports facilities in Bhubaneswar to make Odisha a preferred sports destination.
— The state will have a policy of constructive cooperation with the Centre with the only agenda of the state’s development and welfare of the people of Odisha.
