Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday recalled the
services and sacrifices made by freedom fighters for attaining
independence and advised people of the state to follow in their
footsteps for country’s development.
Addressing the 31st Freedom Fighters’ Day Mahotsav on the occasion of
the death anniversary of freedom fighter and former Chief Minister
late Utkal Keshari Dr Harekrushna Mahatab, Naveen said,”The Indian
Freedom Movement virtually changed the fundamental principles of
struggle against oppression and tyranny.”
On the occasion, Patnaik inaugurated a photo exhibition depicting the
life history of Dr Harekrushna Mahatab.
The event was attended by Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera, MPs
Prasanna Patasani and Bhartruhari Mahatab, MLA Debi Prasad Mishra and
several BJP and Congress party leaders.
