Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 78.76 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for 13 institutions run by Missionaries of Charity in the state.
The chief minister sanctioned the funds on the requests of district collectors. On December 30 last year, he had directed the collectors to ensure that no inmates of Missionaries of Charity should suffer, especially from food security and health related issues.
The fund is meant for assistance of the institutions run by Missionaries of Charity in 8 districts. More than 900 inmates in various leprosiums and orphanages in the state will benefit from the fund, an official release stated.
