Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has appealed to people not to visit his residence, Naveen Niwas, to wish him on his birthday on Sunday (October 16), an official release said on Saturday.
“As the Chief Minister will be leaving for Hyderabad on Sunday to attend the ‘Make in Odisha’ he has requested his well-wishers not to visit Naveen Niwas to wish him,” said the release issued by the Chief Minister’s office.
“I am indebted to the people of Odisha for their love, affection and blessings,” the release quoted Naveen as saying.
Naveen, who will turn 76 years, usually avoids celebrating his birthday and on some pretext or the other requests people every year not to throng Naveen Niwas to wish him. Of late Naveen Niwas has been converted into a security fortress and is out of bounds for all except a choosen few from the ruling coterie.
