Mumbai: Nawazuddin Siddiqui has hit back hard at against his former wife Anjana Pandey and brother Shamasuddin.

In the latest development in the sordid saga, the actor has filed a defamation suit against them, seeking Rs 100 crore as damages for the defamation and harassment he has had to face due to misleading claims made by them.

The suit, filed through advocate Sunil Kumar, will be heard on March 30, reported India Today.

Nawaz prayed to the court that his brother and former wife – who had taken up the Aalia Siddiqui after converting to Islam — be directed to not publish any defamatory content on their social media platform and withdraw the allegations made against him by them on their respective platforms.

The Bollywood actor has also sought a written public apology from both for defaming him.

Nawaz prayed that the court direct the two to make a complete disclosure about the people they have approached to convey false and malicious information about him. Following the disclosure, the two may be restrained from disposing of or dealing with their assets in any manner, especially which may adversely affect Nawazuddin from recovering damages caused or other pecuniary remedies from them which the court may deem fit and proper, the petition stated.

According to the suit, Nawaz appointed Shamasuddin as his manager when his brother told him he was jobless, and blindly handed over credit cards, debit cards, signed cheque book, bank passwords, email address, etc to his brother.

Nawaz has alleged that his brother later turned dishonest and started cheating and defrauding him.

Being a busy actor, he claims he did not have the time to coordinate with the bank about his transactions and expenses made by Shamasuddin, who told the actor that he was buying property in the latter’s name, while they were purchased jointly.

When he questioned his brother, the latter instigated his former wife to file false and frivolous cases against the actor, Nawaz stated in the petition.
