Bhubaneswar: After remaining tight-lipped for three days on the alleged kidnap-murder of a minor girl of Jadupur village in Nayagarh district, Agriculture and Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo on Thursday made a statement in the Odisha Assembly.
Refuting the allegations regarding his involvement in the case, he said that the murder of the minor girl had deeply hurt him.
“’Pari’s murder has devastated and left me heartbroken. In my political life, I have always condemned violence in any form. I welcome the Crime Branch probe into the incident and strongly believe that justice will be done to the girl and her family. Whoever is the culprit will be punished,” Sahoo said.
He further said that the opposition instead of politicising the issue should demand justice for the aggrieved family. “Let the truth unfolds and the minor girl gets justice,” he added.
As pandemonium continued to prevail over the incident, the Speaker adjourned the House till Friday.
