Bhubaneswar: A jail warder, now posted in Nayagarh, was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside government staff quarters located at Jharpada prison campus in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
The deceased has been i
dentified as Sarathi Pradhan, a warder posted at the Nayagarh Jail.
Pradhan’s body was found hanging inside the government quarters where his family stays. Family members and neighbours noticed the incident and alerted the authorities.
On being informed, a police team visited the spot and initiated an investigation. The body was sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Police said the circumstances leading to the alleged suicide are yet to be established. A detailed investigation has been launched and family members as well as colleagues are being questioned as part of the probe.
