Koraput: A team of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials from Karnataka has picked up 5 students in connection with a case of alleged ganja smuggling from Odisha’s Koraput district.
According to sources, a 15-member team of NCB picked up the students from their rented house at Parabeda Sahi in Jeypore town of the district on Monday night.
The students were identified as Himanshu Sekhar Nayak, Raja Mandal, Shiva Datta, K Amarnath and Soham. While one of them is pursuing engineering, the other four are students of Vikram Dev University at Jeypore.
Confirming the incident, the IIC of Jeypore Town police station told the media that the NCB picked up the five students in connection with a case of ganja muggling from Koraput to Karnataka.
Jeypore Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Harish Bisi has also confirmed the case.
