Bhubaneswar: The National Commission for Women (NCW) is slated to hold a public hearing in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday with an aim to ensure speedy empowerment of women and resolution of various problems being faced by them.
The public hearing programme is scheduled to be held at the Ekamra Hall of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) office in the afternoon.
The ‘Jan Sunwai’, to be attended by NCW Chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar, aims to address pending complaints and receive new grievances from women in the area.
Pending cases from 2022 to 2024 in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack will be reviewed during the hearing. The NCW has urged the public to participate in large numbers and has requested the Odisha police to provide necessary support for the event.
The Commission has also requested the Odisha DGP to issue directions to the authorities concerned to coordinate with district authorities for the smooth conduct of the public hearing.
The NCW chairperson is also scheduled to attend a function to be held to mark the 32nd foundation day of Odisha State Commission for Women (OSCW) at a hotel in the capital city on Tuesday morning. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida will also attend the event.
