Mumbai: The special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court has issued a notice to comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) demanded cancellation of their bail plea in the drug case.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the NCB team approached the special court under NDPS Act, 1985, on Tuesday, challenging the magisterial court order which granted bail to the celebrity couple.

The agency has also demanded the custody of Haarsh, stating that they need to interrogate him to unearth facts about drugs which was recovered from their residence during the raid.

The agency claimed that Haarsh, in his statement, had confessed to procuring and smoking cannabis.

NCB has urged the special court to set aside the order of the magisterial court and permit them to interrogate Haarsh in their custody.

The special court then issued a notice to the celebrity couple and the hearing has been scheduled for next week.

While Bharti was arrested by the NCB on November 21, her husband Haarsh was detained on November 22.

The NCB team had recovered 86.5 gram of cannabis from their residence
