Bhadrak: A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel on Friday rescued a pregnant woman trapped amidst floodwaters at a village in Bhadrak district.
According to reports, heavy downpour for the past few days has submerged Jalahari village in Bhandaripokhari block.
Meanwhile, an NDRF team reched the village after receiving a message that a pregnant woman was marooned amidst the swirling waters. They threw the woman a life jacket and then brought her out safely. She was then rushed to a hospital.
Moreover, NDRF personnel also rescued two siblings trapped in a house submerged in the flood at Solampur in Bhandaripokhari block.
Notably, life has been thrown out of gear in several areas here following incessant rain for the past few days. Road connectivity is also snapped and several panchayat areas are facing harrowing time.
On Thursday, the water level of Baitarani river was flowing 2 metres above the danger mark.
