Bhubaneswar: Delegates from Odisha and two other states attended a workshop organised by the Regional Office of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEF&CC) at Bhubaneswar. The aim was to disseminate the provisions made in the New Forest (Conservation) Amendment Act.
Apart from Odisha, delegates from Jharkhand and West Bengal attended the event.
Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
The Chief Secretary stressed the need to work as a team and said it is important to strike a balance between conservation and development.
DDGF A T Mishra gave the welcome address and highlighted the new provisions made in the Act. He gave a detailed power point presentation on the FC Act.
Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Forest S Sahu , ACS Mines D K Singh, PCCF D Biswal, PCCF (Wildlife) Popli, Nodal Officer S Nanda , MD OMC Balwant Singh, DDGF Ranchi Santosh Tiwari, Collectors and DFOs from different districts were present at the workshop.
