NEET Row: Dharmendra Pradhan Says Govt Ready For Discussion, Provided…

New Delhi: The Central government is facing the heat over irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam, and cancellation of other entrance and qualifying exams.

Bearing the brunt of an aggressive Opposition and countrywide protests by students is Union Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

In fact, the Lok Sabha had to be adjourned on Friday after the Opposition INDIA group parties demanded a discussion in the House on alleged leak of NEET-UG and other competitive exam question papers.

Responding to their demand, Pradhan said the Central government is ready to address every kind of concern, provided the conversations are conducted within the bounds of established norms and respect in the Parliament.

“The government is ready for any kind of discussion, but everything should happen within tradition and decorum,” the Education minister said on Friday.

“When the President herself spoke about the exam in her speech yesterday (Thursday), it shows the government’s intention that we are ready to face any issue… The government’s responsibility is towards the youth of the country, towards the students of the country… The government is ready to put forth its side, then what is the confusion?” Pradhan said.

He reiterated that the Centre will take strictest action and the CBI will catch all who are guilty.

“We will not spare anyone. A credible high-level committee has also been formed for reform, soon the date of all those exams will also be announced. I also request the opposition to come out of politics and join the discussion,” was Pradhan’s message for Congress and other parties.

Reassuring that those who were in charge of NTA have been removed and responsibility has been given to senior officials, Pradhan further said: “I want to appeal to the Opposition that they should not confuse the students.”
