New Delhi: In what is clearly one of the worst times for the Indian economy, Nestle India has instilled a bit of hope by offering a virtual internship programme to 1,000 individuals.
The programme, called Nesternship, will take applications from graduates and postgraduates of any discipline in their final year.
The applicants are required to apply through Nestle India’s social media handles or Internshala, an online training platform. The internship will go live on August 1 and will provide training for the next four months.
Commenting on this initiative, Chairman and Managing Director, Nestlé India, Suresh Narayanan said, “India’s future hinges on the energy, capabilities and hard work of our youth and being part of that eco-system, Nestlé India is committed to this imperative. We intend to do our humble bit and play a part in helping the youth of the country cope with these unprecedented times, by ensuring that they do not lose out on opportunities to build their professional competence. As a Company, we have always believed that in times of need, we must heed the call of society.”
“Through this internship, we would be offering youngsters an opportunity to develop their skills and they will be paid a stipend and awarded a certificate on successful completion of the project. We will also have young mentors for our interns within the organisation to ensure a smooth experience and genuine learning. This initiative is a part of our Global Youth Initiative, ‘Nestlé Needs Youth’, where we have been focusing on three areas: Employment & Employability, where we have reached over 30,000 youth in India these past 4 years through various programmes; Agripreneurship, where we have trained and enabled many young dairy farmers and coffee farmers; Entrepreneurship, where we currently generate employment for over 600 youth, throughout of home MAGGI hotspots or NESCAFÉ Corners,” he added.
The programme will impart soft skills training via pre-recorded learning sessions and will hold a ‘CV Clinic’ to brush up their employability.
