Bhubaneswar: The construction of Netaji Bus Terminal at Khan Nagar in Odisha’s Cuttack city will be completed by June 15.
It was known from a review meeting of the project by secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian with the officials on Saturday afternoon. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had laid the foundation stone for the bus terminus on January 23, 2021.
The terminus, which is coming up on 15 acre of land, is being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 70 crore. It will have the facilities for parking of 180 buses in a three-storey building.
Pandian also went to Chandi temple in the city and took stock of ongoing modernisation and beautification works undertaken with a budget of Rs 40 crore. Besides new roads and electrification in the temple campus and around it, various facilities for the devotees are being constructed. The entire project is targeted to be completed by year-end and dedicated to the people next year.
The 5T secretary then went around Clock Tower at Ranihat and vending zone at Chhatara Bazaar to review the development works. He was accompanied by Cuttack district collector Bhabani Sankar Chaini, CMC commissioner Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra and CDA chairman Anil Samal.
Earlier in the day, Pandian also went to Puri to review the ongoing works of heritage corridor around Jagannath temple, Shree Setu and Jagannath Ballav Yatri Niwas. Stating that Puri project holds highest priority for the state government in its heritage transformation programme, the secretary said he would visit the Pilgrim Town to take stock of the progress of the works every week.
