Mumbai: Playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who has a history of making controversial statements, drew the ire of netizens recently for his objectionable remarks on actor Salman Khan.
During an interview with journalist Shubhankar Mishra, Abhijeet shared his experience of working with both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, and said that the former has a ‘class’ and the latter isn’t worth talking about.
When Abhijeet was asked about his indirect remarks on Salman Khan during the hit-and-run case, the singer stated that he wasn’t referring to anyone in particular, but to the people who drink and drive.
“Maine kaha ye jo hota hai…road par soyenge to ek daarubaaz aayega daaru pike gaadi chadha dega tumhare upar. Road par kutte ki tarah so rahe ho. To ek daarubaaz aayega, ek tharki, ab kyu merese wo repeat karwa rahe ho…” clarified Abhijeet.
However, these unpleasant remarks didn’t go down well with the fans of Salman Khan, who believe that the singer indirectly called the actor a ‘daarubaaz’ as he was an accused in the hit-and-run case.
Condemning Abhijeet for his remarks, one user wrote, “Why is Abhijeet even important? He’s not relevant anymore.”
Another commented, “I admire him for his singing par yeh aadmi galeech hai.”
A third wrote, “When you have talent and you use it to fuck things up.”
Another user quipped, “Who is this idiot who pops up from time to time like a frog in a cesspool?”
“He’s trying so hard to get in good books of Shah Rukh Khan and his fans lmao,” posted a user.
On work front, Abhijeet has lent his voice to several hit songs featuring Salman Khan including Chunari Chunari, Tan Tana Tan Tan Taara, and many more.
