New-Age Energy Minerals Key To India’s Growth Plans: Subhrakant Panda

New Delhi: New-age energy minerals are important for India’s economic development and building a sustainable future, according to Subhrakant Panda.

“India must leverage its mining expertise and strategic relationships to access and extract these resources,” the FICCI president and IMFA MD said during the launch of a report on ‘New Age Energy Minerals’, prepared by FICCI.

The report was launched by Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary, Ministry of Mines, at New Delhi on May 2.

The report on New Age Energy Minerals provides an overview of geographical and geological data, value chains, end-use sectors, market outlook, and long-term demand for each mineral, along with challenges and opportunities, and key recommendations.

During his keynote address, Panda highlighted the importance of mining in India’s GDP.

Emphasising on ongoing exploration, enhanced technology adoption, and increased efficiencies to augment production of new age energy minerals, the FICCI chief also urged building of integrated supply chains to achieve the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Among others present at the launch were Pankaj Satija, Co-Chair, FICCI Mining Committee and FICCI Secretary General Shailesh Pathak and other industry leaders.
