New Attractions & Facilities Unveiled To Mark Nandankanan Zoological Park’s 66th Foundation Day

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Forest & Environment Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia inaugurated several new animal enclosures as part of celebrations to mark the 66th foundation day of the iconic Nandankanan Zoological Park on Monday.

The programme also featured a naming ceremony for animal cubs born at the zoo.

k bear were given names in front of visitors and staff.

The minister reiterated the state’s commitment to conservation of wildlife and sustainable development.

Khuntia unveiled facilities such as zoo security staff residential complex, zoo library & digital hub, upgraded bear enclosure, centre of conservation, research & training, birds’ quarantine facility and Kanjia wetlands discovery trail.

These additions will provide visitors more opportunities to see rare and diverse species at the zoological park.

Employees who demonstrated excellence in their work were recognised and honoured for their contribution to the zoo’s growth and reputation.

Established in 1960, the zoo continues to be a major attraction for wildlife lovers and researchers.
