Bhubaneswar: New ration cards are likely to be issued within a month to the families who have applied for it in Odisha.
Giving this information on Wednesday, Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister, Krushna Chandra Patra said that the state government has already started the process in this regard.

Stating that the departmental authorities have been asked to exclude the ineligible beneficiaries from the list, the Minister said that the government has prepared 12 guidelines for the inclusion of eligible beneficiaries and 10 guidelines for the exclusion of ineligible beneficiaries
At the same time, e-kyc audits will be made to check whether the information provided by the beneficiaries is transparent or not. Following the completion of e-kyc audits, ration cards will be provided to the new beneficiaries.
While over six lakh families have applied for ration cards so far, more families are likely to apply. However, ration cards will be provided only to eligible beneficiaries, the Minister said.
