Nayagarh: A new bus stand in the town will be made operational from April 2, Engineer (Works Department) Kishore Satpathy informed on Saturday.
The decision to make the bus stand operational was taken in a meeting on Friday. It was attended by Nayagarh MLA Arun Sahu, Collector Poma Tudu and Municipality Officer Santosh Kumar Jena.
Satpathy said the construction of the new bus stand is in the final stage with some minor works left.
The functioning of the new bus stand will solve the problem of traffic jams in the old bus stand area, sources said.
Some shops will also be opened on the premises of the new bus stand for the convenience of passengers, the sources added.
