Bhubaneswar: New Odisha in-charge of Congress Dr Ajoy Kumar is likely to visit the state on January 6 to meet party leaders here and discuss strategies for the upcoming elections.
This was revealed by the party on Thursday after Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee President Sarat Pattanayak met Ajoy Kumar during his visit to Nagpur. An important programme was organised by AICC at Nagpur to celebrate the 139th foundation day of the party.
The PCC chief, who attended the event at Nagpur, also met Ajoy Kumar and held discussion regarding the new state in-charge’s visit to Odisha ahead of the twin elections in the state.
After the two leaders met, the party stated that the new Odisha in-charge of Congress is set to undertake a visit to the state on January 6.
Ajoy Kumar is likely to meet and interact different party leaders during his visit. He would be accorded a rousing welcome by the state party unit, sources said. The focus would be on chalking out plans to bolster the poll prospects of the grand old party in the state where it has been out of power since 2000.
