Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 caseload in the Odisha capital crossed the 700-mark on Monday with a record 708 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The figure had dropped to 683 on Sunday after a spike of 745 on Saturday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 557 are local contacts and the rest 151 from quarantine centres.
The highest of 37 cases each have been reported from Nayapalli and Patia, followed by 36 from Khandagiri, 21 from Jharpada and 20 from Mancheswar.
The last 24 hours also saw 350 more patients getting cured of the infection.
With this, the active cases in the city have mounted to 5468.
