Bhubaneswar: The capital city, which witnessed a climb-down in the daily COVID-19 count on Saturday, registered a surge on Sunday.
As many as 371 positive cases were reported in the city in the last 24 hours compared to 207 patients on Saturday.
Of the new cases, 108 were from quarantine and 263 local contacts, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). As many as 231 patients recovered from the disease during the period.
Of the local contacts, 15 cases each were identified in Patia and Nayapalli, followed by 14 in Khandagiri, 12 in Old Town and 10 in Samantarapur.
While the number of deceased patients has gone up to 751 from 736 on Saturday, the city now has 1988 active cases.
