New Delhi: A total of 38 people have tested positive for the new UK COVID-19 strain in India so far, according to an update from the Union Health Ministry on Monday.
The break-up is — 8 samples at National Centre for Disease Control (Delhi); 11 in Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (Delhi); 1 in National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (Kalyani, West Bengal); 5 in National Institute of Virology (Pune); 3 in Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (Hyderabad); 10 in National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences Hospital (Bengaluru).
The ministry also informed that all 38 have been kept in single-room isolation in healthcare facilities by respective state governments. Their close contacts have also been put under quarantine.
