Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital saw a spike in COVID-19 cases on Friday with 15 people testing positive for the virus.
Among them were two foreign returnees. These men were under home quarantine after returning from Qatar and Ukraine on March 5 and March 8. They underwent RT-PCR tests after developing COVID-19 symptoms.
“Their samples have been sent to the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) for genome sequencing to ascertain whether they carry any evolved and virulent strains,” sources said.
