Bhubaneswar: The capital city logged 264 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours, 70 less than the previous day when 334 new cases were reported.
Of the new cases registered, 51 were from quarantine and 213 were local contacts, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated in a tweet.
Of the local contacts, maximum 18 cases were reported from Chandrasekharpur, followed by 14 each from Khandagiri and Old Town, 13 from Patia, while 10 each from Jharpada and Nayapalli.
While 231 patients recovered from the disease, the number of the deceased went up to 911 with 15 fatalities from the virus.
The city now has 2,824 active cases and total positive cases have gone up to 1,02,061, the BMC stated.
