New COVID Infections Drop Below 500 In Odisha, 12 Districts Report Nil Cases

Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 500 on Monday with 407 more people testing positive in the last 24 hours.

Of the fresh infections reported from 18 districts, 74 cases (18.18 per cent) are below 18 years of age.

Odisha had registered 528 on Sunday, 478 on Saturday, 477 on Friday, and 602 on Thursday.

According to the I & PR department, 238 of the new cases are from quarantine and 169 local contacts.

Khurda district reported the highest 167 new infections, followed by Cuttack (63) and Mayurbhanj (26). Twelve districts reported nil cases.

  16. Puri: 19
  17. Sambalpur: 11
  18. Sundargarh: 2

Besides, 39 are from the state pool.

With these fresh cases detected from 64, 419 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.62%. The TPR was 0.76 % on Sunday, 0.69% on Saturday, 0.72% on Friday, and 0.88% on Thursday.

Odisha now has 5,075 active cases.
