Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha capital remained below 200 for the third consecutive day on Monday as 172 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The city had reported 143 and 190 cases on Sunday and Saturday respectively, while the caseload was 243 on Friday and 234 on Thursday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 46 of the new cases are from quarantine and 126 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum of 9 cases have been reported from Nayapalli, followed by 8 each cases from Old Town and Patia.
In the last 24 hours, another 204 patients have recovered from the disease, which has so far claimed 1,004 lives in the city.
With this, the active cases have also dropped to 2,965. A total of 1,08,085 people have so far been infected during the first and second waves of the pandemic.
