Bhubaneswar: The people of New Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) were panicked by an earthquake on Saturday night.
As per reports, the tremor was also felt in border areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab at 9.30 pm. Its intensity measured 5.8 on the Richter scale, according to National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
Following the tremor, people in some areas of New Delhi were found rushing out of their homes in panic. However, any damage to properties has not been reported.
The NCS stated that the epicentre of the earthquake was in Hindukush region of Afghanistan. It is located around 420 km from Gulmarg of Jammu and Kashmir.
