New Easterly Trough To Bring Rain To Odisha; Night Temp To Fall In Next 3-4 Days

Bhubaneswar: After a brief hiatus following Cyclone Jawad, Odisha is likely to witness a fresh spell of rain with a trough in easterlies sweeping across the Southwest Bay of Bengal to central parts of the North Bay of Bengal in lower levels, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday.

The westwards movement of the trough will result in isolated to scattered rainfall over the east peninsular coast and Odisha during the next 2-3 days, it said.

While the IMD has issued no warning for the state, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely at many places in Coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada and a few places in the rest districts till 8.30 am on Friday.

A similar weather condition will prevail during the next 24 hours will rain lashing South Interior Odisha, Gajapati and Ganjam.

The MeT office has also forecast a gradual fall in the night temperature by 3-4°C in the next 3 to 4 days.
