Bhubaneswar: Four male Asiatic lions and two foxes were brought to the Nandankanan Zoological Park here on Tuesday night.
The new arrivals were brought from Kanan Pendari Zoo in Chhattisgarh under the animal exchange programme approved by the Central Zoo Authority (CZA).
On their part, the Nandankanan authorities will send two hippopotamuses to Kanan Pendari Zoo.
With their arrival, the number of lions at Nandankanan has increased to 15 (8 males, 7 females) and the count of foxes has gone up to five.
