The Indian Air Force launched a mobile game named ‘Indian Air Force: A cut above’. Currently, it is a single-player mode game. During the launch in New Delhi on Wednesday, it was revealed that a multi-player mode is expected around October.
The game can be downloaded from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
The game’s teaser shows a fighter pilot flying a jet and saying, “I am an air warrior, proud, dependable and fearless. In every act and deed, I put the honour and security of my motherland, first.”
Interestingly, the main character sports a gunslinger moustache similar to that of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. Wing Commander Abhinandan was captured by Pakistani authorities after his MiG-21 crashed into Pakistan’s territory. He was later released by Pakistan in the aftermath of Balakot airstrikes.
He is the only Indian to shoot down a F-16 jet using a MiG-21 Bison.
The game has 10 missions. The player is first given a tutorial session on how to fly, shoot targets, reach, precision and flexibility, including support to other arms of the Indian Military.
